Pain is something we can all relate to. We have grown socially accustomed to looking for the magic pill to mask it. However, becoming intimate with pain, but not possessed by it, enables us to feel, sense, and hear the wise teachings held within it.

Affirmative LGBTQ+ Therapy

The world can be a harsh place for someone who doesn’t fit the mold of the majority or adhere to the dominant cultural narrative because it doesn’t fit who they are inside. This struggle can leave you feeling depressed, anxious, and hopeless.

As a Queer Identified Therapist I have a personal understanding of what this struggle is like and how important it is to have a provider that fully supports your identities. I create a supportive therapeutic space to help you unpack your emotions, process struggles, and voice the impacts you have felt from living in a society that can be un-accepting, oppressive, and even abusive. I can help you develop safety from within and ideas on how to connect with a supportive community so you can live a fully authentic life.

I also hold an affirmative view on non-traditional lifestyle choices including polyamorous and open relationships, kink, sex positive, sex workers, and asexual identities. I believe each individual has the right to choose how they want to live and I support people in challenging the dominant societal narratives that do not serve them.

Trauma Informed Therapy

Trauma is stored in the body and emotions, memories, and thoughts can trigger dis-regulation in the nervous system. It can feel like panic, anxiety, depression, or like there is an alarm inside you that is always going off causing you to feel unsafe.

Trauma Informed Therapy can help you find ways to develop safety, learn how to regulate your nervous system, and establish supportive ways to work with painful thoughts, emotions, and memories that resurface. Healing trauma takes time and can be scary, and it can help you find ways to take back control of your life.
